In the 2013-2014 school year, PAVE served 48 schools in 32 networks.


A PAVE network is a unique organization with a governing board that is running one or more schools.

Partner Schools Utilizing PAVE's Services

In addition to assisting schools in the area of governance and leadership, PAVE also provides other valuable resources, services, and support.


Advisory Services

PAVE shares its expertise on everything from board and fund development to communication services and search committee participation with its Partner School leaders.


Independent Consulting Services

PAVE brings trusted consultants in to instruct Partner School leaders on issues that include planning, human resources, fund development, and marketing (subsidizing 90% of fees).


Board Corps*

PAVE recruits, trains, and connects talent and resources to its Partner School boards of directors, based on current needs identified by those boards.

*Some of PAVE’s Partner Schools are not in the appropriate stage of board development and/or growth to accept Board Corps members, or are not permitted to accept Board Corps members based on current by-laws (e.g., certain religious schools).

In the 2014-2015 school year, PAVE is serving 57 schools in 42 networks


With $5.2 million invested in the form of planning and challenge grants—and $18.1 million in loans for the growth and expansion of 30 different school networks in Milwaukee—PAVE has participated in $100 million of successful school expansion projects since 2001.
